A few years down the road…

Callum POV

When I pull the earbuds out of my ears and place them in my pocket, the music I had been listening to is replaced by the soft notes of Al Green's "Let's Stay Together," coming from the kitchen.

I toe off my sneakers and place them in the overflowing piles of shoes by the door in our mudroom.

Some things, like Brynn's lack of organization, haven't changed over the years.

I use the bottom of my shirt to wipe the sweat dripping off my forehead from my run. About a year after our wedding, Brynn and I said goodbye to apartment life in downtown Willow Creek and hello to suburban life, with a two-car garage and white picket fence. Okay, so our fence is wood and unpainted, but you get the idea. It's not that we didn't love our apartment, especially after I turned my old bedroom into a library and reading sanctuary for Brynn, but it wasn't the best place to raise our kids. We closed on this house a week before our daughter, Eva, was born.

I lean against the door frame and watch my wife as she sways side to side at the counter, mixing something in front of her.

I slowly close the distance between us and place my hands on her hips, pressing my front to her back.

She must not have heard the garage door close behind me because she startles. The wooden spoon in her hand drops to the glass bowl with a clang.

"Oh, Sweet Jesus, Callum. You scared the shit out of me."

I glance down, and my mouth waters—it looks like Brynn is making pudding. It's not as good as the pre-made snack pack goodness but still delicious.

"Did you have a nice run," she asks, attempting to escape my grasp, but my fingers tighten on her waist.

"Yeah, I love this neighborhood. Everyone is so friendly and waving. I'm not sure we ever had more than five conversations with neighbors all the years we lived in the apartment."

Brynn swipes her pointer finger on the spoon of pudding and holds it up to my mouth. I wrap my lips around her fingers, tasting the chocolaty goodness. Mmm, my two favorite flavors—Brynn and pudding.

My fingers slowly creep under her shirt to the waistband of her shorts. Her muscles flutter under my touch. Even after all this time, I love that she's still so responsive to my touch.

"Don't start something you can't finish, Mr. Murphy." Brynn leans back against my chest, giving me the perfect view down her top.

I'm just about to lower my head to the skin exposed on her neck when little footsteps stampede down the hall.

"Daddy!" Eva squeals.

"To be continued," I groan into Brynn's neck as her body vibrates with laughter.

"Famous last words," she manages before our daughter comes barreling into my leg with an "oof."

I reach down and scoop her into my arms. "Hi princess," I say while peppering kisses all over her cheeks. Her giggles are music to my ears.

"Eww, Daddy! P U! You tink." Eva grimaces and tries to wiggle out of my arms, but my hold only tightens around her.

"What?" I gasp, pretending to be in shock. "No, I don't." I take a large inhale and hold back my own gag. "I smell like roses."

Eva shakes her head over and over.

"Mommy thinks I smell good, right, babe?" I turn to Brynn, who has gone back to stirring the bowl of pudding.

"You don't smell the best." She scrunches her nose, and my jaw drops.

Little hands cup my cheeks, turning my attention from her mom back to her. "See, Daddy! Mommy says you tink, and she knows everything."

Oh boy, here we go. My girls are always ganging up on me.

"Hear that, Callum? Mommy knows everything," she taunts.

I glance back over my shoulder, giving Brynn a stern look and mouth "later."

"Daddy," Eva says, and I look down at her bright baby blue eyes, "my birfday party is today." I blinked and my baby girl is turning three.

I hoist Eva up into the air. "That's right, my birthday princess! Are you ready to celebrate and eat all the dirt cake?"

Eva cheers. She has been fascinated with helping Brynn in the garden, so we are having a garden-themed party with individual dirt cake cups in mini flower pots.

"Sweetie, why don't you go finish up cleaning up your toys in the other room. Guests will be arriving soon. I'll finish this up and then come help you put your party dress on."

"Otay, Mommy." I lower her down to the ground, and before I can even blink, Eva takes off into the other room.

"Now, where were we?" I step up behind Brynn and place my hands on her hips.

"Oh no, sir." She spins in my arms and pushes me back with her palm flat against my chest. "As I said, guests will be arriving soon. And as Eva puts it, 'you tink.' Now go shower."

I lean in and press my lips to hers. I taste chocolate when Brynn opens and lets my tongue explore her mouth. Uh-huh, someone else has been sampling the pudding.

Brynn shoves me back, breaking us apart, and holds the wooden spoon in front of me. "Now go," she shouts. "Or no pudding for you."

I hold my hands up in the air and turn. "All right, I'm going."

I jog up the stairs and head straight for the master bedroom.

***

"Olivia, watch out for your brother," Hadley shouts across the yard to where the kids are playing.

Kids are everywhere. Between our gang's next-gen and a few of the neighborhood kids, our backyard looks like

"Hey, sorry, we're late." Ben walks through the open sliding glass door and holds his arm out to assist a very pregnant Lexi out onto the back patio. Their son, Kellan, zooms past them, almost knocking into them.

"Sorry, mom," he calls. At least that's what I think he shouted. It came out in basically one word as he ran out to join the rest of the kids.

"You know what, babe, how about you carry around a watermelon under your shirt and two cantaloupes in your bra. And see how easy it is for you to put your shoes on or even just move around."

He pulls the patio chair out for her, and she plops in it, anything but gracefully. He leans down and presses a kiss to the top of her head. "It'll be all over soon, I promise."

Lexi is approaching her due date for Baby Harrington number two. Somehow Ben convinced her not to find out the gender of the baby, which is a total shocker in itself. Lexi being the all-American planner she is, turned our apartment into a Pepto Bismol bottle the moment we found out we were expecting a girl.

"Hey, you know they say the best way to get a baby out is the same way how you got them in," I joke, earning a smack to the chest from Brynn.

"Guys, this is a kid's birthday party. Maybe don't sneak off to go fuck or well do anything in our guest bathroom."

"Would it really be a birthday party in this group without a little sexual debauchery, though?" Hadley laughs as she pops a chip in her mouth.

Asher bellows out a loud laugh. "I mean, who could forget Lexi's surprise party where we almost got an eyeful of Ben's—" There goes Asher again, forgetting how to use his filter.

Thankfully, my wife steps in, clapping her hands together loudly before he can finish his statement. "Who wants cake," she says enthusiastically.

"Can I help?" Zoe asks from where she's perched on her fiancé Justin's lap.

"No, I've got it," Brynn smiles and meets my gaze. "Plus, my husband has those big strong muscles." She grips my bicep and pulls me into the house.

I'm admiring the view as Brynn bend over to retrieve the trays of dirt cake cups from the fridge when Eva comes barreling into the room with Kellan hot on her trail.

"Mommy, Mommy," she shouts. "Is it time for presents?"

Brynn couches down to Eva. "Not yet, sweetie. Soon, okay?"

Eva pouts, and it takes everything in me not to cave and let her open them now.

"Come on, Eva. Let's go back down the slide." Kellan grabs her little hand in his.

"Those two are inseparable." I watch them race out the back door.

Brynn steps up beside me and wraps her arms around my waist. I do the same around her shoulders.

"Makes me think of two other childhood best friends who were inseparable."

"I know; that's what I'm worried about."

Brynn laughs, and she thinks I'm kidding, but I don't care if it's my best friend's son or not—Eva is not dating until she's thirty. I feel Brynn's gaze on me and glance down to see her smiling brightly at me.

"I love you, Mr. Murphy."

"I love you too, Mrs. Murphy." God, even after years of being together, that never gets old. She presses up on her toes and seals her lips to mine. We share a quick but passionate kiss, not wanting to get too carried away in the middle of our daughter's birthday party. However, it does flashback memories to making out in the dark during Asher's laser tag birthday adventure back in the day.

"Now be a perfect gentleman and take this tray of dirt cakes out so that our daughter can devour it in a few bites and finally open her presents."

I accept the tray from her, but she doesn't release her grasp from it just yet. "And maybe later, if you're a good boy, I'll let you lick the second batch of pudding I made off me."

"Yes, ma'am," I croak.

I close my eyes and steady my breathing. Think of anything else—dead bunnies, hair in the shower drain, anything else besides my wife spread out on the counter.

"Murphy," Asher shouts from the patio. "What's taking so long? Fail to follow your own advice?" He taunts, followed by everyone's laughter.

I clear my throat. Thankfully my dick got the memo that it wasn't playtime just yet.

"You better not be teasing me, baby. I plan to hold you to that."

Brynn carries a second tray and walks in front of me with an added swagger to her steps. "I pinky promise," she winks over her shoulder.

I don't know what I did to deserve this life, but I fucking love it.

"Dirt cake," I shout in my best baseball concession stand voice. "Get ya dirt cake here."

I Never Planned on You Deleted Scene

this was originally a continuation of Chapter 38

“Oh yes, I am totally sure that’s exactly why door locks were invented,” I say, laughing before taking another sip of coffee. I hear the floorboards creak in the living room; maybe our laughing was a little too loud for this hour. I turn to see Kyler walking toward us with crazy bed hair, shirtless and in gym shorts. He catches me ogling his chest and body, and judging by his grin, he knows exactly what I’m thinking: how can I get this man back into bed, and do we ever have to leave it?

Striding across the kitchen, Kyler leans down, tilts my chin towards him, and places a deep kiss on my lips. I can hear Zach grunt next to me. Kyler and I break apart. “Good morning, beautiful.”

“For fuck’s sake.” My brother rolls his eyes, but there is a smile on his face, so I know he doesn’t mean it.

“So what has you two laughing at this early?”

Ky grabs the coffee mug out of my hands and takes a swig. He shakes his head, setting the coffee mug down before stalking over to the coffee maker and grabbing himself a cup. “Baby, we really need to teach you the proper way to drink your coffee, and it’s not that almond milk shit.”

I shake my head at him. “Nope, you can’t change that. Plus, I don’t have to worry about you stealing my coffee all the time since you don’t like it, Mr. Black Coffee.” I make a face at him.
Kyler places his coffee mug in front of us, takes my hand, and pulls me to my feet. “Hey!” I go to protest when he sits down on the stool where I was seated before he pulls me into his lap.
He smiles. “Much better.” I wrap my arms around his shoulders.

“All right, all right, don’t make me change my mind on being cool with this,” Zach teases.

“Seriously? All the years I had to witness you and Haylee? Deal with it, bro.”

“Yeah, remember that time you said that we keep our sex lives to ourselves?” Ky nods, and I am not sure where this talk is headed. “Well, since yours now includes my sister, I definitely do not want to hear it.”

Kyler mumbles, “Too late—pretty sure you heard plenty last night.”

My cheeks heat in embarrassment. I need to change the subject before these two start at it.

“So anyway, since Mom and Dad are still out of town with Ms. Natalie and Mr. Brian”—they’re at a Beatles cover band concert in Williamsburg—“and we’re not headed over there, you want to go out to properly celebrate your new engagement? I obviously have some more making up to do, so why not start with mimosas.”

Zach stands up from the stool and walks over to the coffee maker to refill his cup and grab one for Haylee. “I think that sounds great. How ’bout we head out in like, say two hours? I’m about to go wake up my fiancée with my dick alarm clock.” He laughs and heads out of the kitchen toward his room.

“Gross,” I yell followed by, “Door lock,” both us of now laughing.

“Ugh, finally, I thought he was never going to leave,” Kyler says before pulling me toward his mouth. This kiss is soft at first, but then his grip on the back of my head tightens as he grabs my messy bun and the kiss deepens. I just can’t get enough of this man, and judging by the growing bulge in his gym shorts, he can’t get enough of me either.

“You are insatiable, Mr. Lawson,” I say against his lips.

He waggles his eyebrows. “You bet your cute ass I am,” he says before pulling me back into a kiss. He pulls my bottom lip between his teeth before slipping his tongue back into my mouth to dance with mine. Our tongues are both fighting to take control. Kyler turns me in his lap so that I am now straddling his lap, and if it weren’t for our clothes, he would be perfectly aligned. I know he can feel how turned on I am. I pull back from his kiss panting before I make him take me right here on the island.

“We have two hours till brunch,” Kyler says as he nips at my neck and finds that special spot behind my ear, making my shorts damp with my own desire.

“Uh-huh” is the only word I can get out in between my heavy breathing.

“What do you say we take this back to our room and continue this conversation behind closed doors?”

I am able to nod before he places his hands under my ass, keeping me latched onto him, and stands, taking me with him. I quickly wrap my hands around his neck and explore it with my tongue. I find the perfect spot, forcing a growl from the back of his throat while he carries me to my room. He kicks the door behind him and pushes me up against the door, rubbing my center with his erection. I can feel how hard he is, and it only makes me drip with more want for him.

As he grinds against me, he dramatically locks the door while his tongue plunges into my mouth. He breaks the kiss and yells, “You’re welcome!”

I snort out a laugh. Kyler turns his attention back to me. “Oh, you think that’s funny, huh.”

I nod and smile teasingly at him.

“Yeah, I do. What are you going to do about it?”

I Never Planned on You Deleted Scene

this Scene takes place between Chapters 30 & 31

“What the fuck was that?” I ask Haylee as we walk out of the restaurant. Our moms are walking ahead of us, so I try to keep our voices down but seriously what the hell was she thinking?

“Well, it was with that, spill a drink in your lap or smack you across the face and pretend say there was a bug on you, but I thought this caused less commotion.”

“It caused something alright,” I couldn’t hold back my laughter, “I thought my mother was going to pass out!”

“Yeah, I kind of panicked and blurted the first thing that came to mind. Not one of my better moments.”

Shaking my head at her, I continue to laugh, “Yeah, not so much, but I still love you.” As we climb in the van she flips me the middle finger. I have to give it to her though, both my mom and hers didn’t bring back up the subject of dating thankfully. It’s not that I don’t want people to know, I mean Zach and Haylee both know about Kyler and I but it’s hard to keep things from them when we live with them not to mention they kind of witnessed the whole kiss thing on the dance floor at Lucky’s…so there’s that.

The ride back to the house was pretty quiet, except for the soft music playing from the radio. Want to take a guess as to what or should I say who was playing? Shocker, the Beatles! Man, I would love to be inside both my mom and Ms. Natalie’s heads right now. And if it wasn’t with my brother, I’d probably ask Haylee more about what happened. Would Kyler ever want to do that? Has he before? While Em and I experienced many things, that was not one of them. He always said one day, If I wanted. I’m not sure that’s even something I would want to do. Shit, why the fuck am I thinking about this… Fuck you Hails…. I’d rather have a wet lap or red cheek.

Once we arrive back to the house, I think we both couldn’t wait to get out of the van fast enough.

“See you girls over the weekend,” Mom yells as we climb out of our seats.

Haylee and I both blow them kisses as we exit the van and shout in unison, “Love you!”

We can hear them both yell you too back as we close the doors.

“Want to watch a movie?” I ask Haylee over my shoulder as we walk up the steps to the front door.

“Yeah, I have some homework to do but I can do that at the same time.” That brings a smile to my face as I remember how we would always say that when we were younger and two movies later and no homework, we were usually getting into trouble by our parents.
And here we are… two movies later, and Haylee hasn’t opened a single book when the boys come home from work and find us in the kitchen each pouring a glass of wine and determining dinner.

Kyler is sitting down on a stool at the island next to Haylee and I’m standing on the other side, when Zach walks in. He walks over to where Haylee is sitting, kisses the top of her head and asks, “so how was lunch?”

I let out a loud laugh, “interesting to say the least, wouldn’t you say, Hails?” I raise an eyebrow in her direction.
She throws up her arms dramatically, “What?! You know you should be thanking me. Yep! I could see you were uncomfortable with the topic on the table so as your best friend I diverted the attention. Maybe it wasn’t the best choice of words but hey, it worked! So, you’re welcome” She bows extending her arms jokingly and dramatically in front of me causing a confused look from both men.

“What did you say, babe?”

I laugh and interrupt before she even has a chance to open her mouth to answer, “let’s just say mom and Natalie now know you were knocking at the back door but weren’t allowed to come in.” How I said that with a straight face, I’ll never know.

Kyler chokes on his beer and Haylee blushes while Zach stares at her with a blank expression. She shrugs at him, a little in shock at her own words as well, “I’m sorry, it was just the first thing that popped into my head. You know I don’t always think before I speak, but hey it worked, didn’t it? They dropped the conversation. In fact, there wasn’t too much talking the rest of the lunch. Oops!”

Once Kyler has composed himself and wiped up the beer he spit out, he walks over to Zach and holds his hand to Zach, “Up top buddy!” They both laugh as they high five and Haylee and I both give a confused look. And they have the nerve to call us complicated? Men are so fucking weird.

Zach runs his fingers through his hair as if he just remembered that Haylee said that in our moms and my presence. It’s a little amusing now that I think about it more seeing his reaction. I bet last night when it happened, this was the last thing on his mind. Zach turns his head and looks between Haylee and I, “What the fuck kind of conversation was so difficult that you felt that statement was better to say?”

The smiles on both of our faces quickly fade and we look back and forth. I bite my lip contemplating my next word. My fingers join and intertwine nervously, when nervous I tend to fidget with my fingers, my palms instantly sweaty. He raises his eyebrows at us, still waiting for a response. My eyes flick between Haylee and Zach before finding Kyler’s, those beautiful brown eyes staring back at me. I swallow hard.

“They asked me about my personal life, mainly dating. If I had been seeing anyone? If I was looking to date anyone? Stuff like that. It just made me uncomfortable. I can see the unease in Kyler’s eyes. I quickly walk over to him and grab his hand and lace his fingers in mine. “Stop, whatever you are thinking, its not that Ky.”

“What is it exactly then?” I can sense he is hurting from this.

“I think we’ll be in the other room,” Haylee says as she grabs Zach by the arm and walk into the living room.

I nudge his thighs apart with my hand so that I can move between them leaning against him while he is still sitting on the stool. I wrap my arms around his neck and take a deep breath. He hesitantly places his arms around my waist pulling him towards me. “Please don’t think that I want to keep this a secret, or that this isn’t something I want. This is what I want. YOU are what I want. It’s just…it’s just…I’m scared. This whole relationship thing is new not only to us, but to me and I don’t want to mess it up and I just worry that if more people know, okay mainly my parents, that this will all get messed up. I spent my whole life with Emmett and our parents were heavily involved in our relationship, I guess since we were so young. I don’t know but this is just us. I don’t know, I’m scared that they will have something to say and I don’t really care what their opinion is. Whatever they want to think, I want to be with you. I want this,” bringing my hands back from his neck back to his hand, lacing our fingers together and bringing to my chest, “I want us, I just need some time. Okay?”

“Okay.” He kisses me briefly, first on our clasped hands and then my lips. He leans his forehead against mine, “I get it, baby, I do. I don’t want to keep you a secret but I’m fine keeping this to us for now. But… I have a confession though, I kind of already told my sisters, well they figured it out.”

I laugh. Knowing that Lauren and Kate know, I’m surprised they hadn’t purchased a billboard yet. The night I had met them for dinner, they were anything but subtle that night now that I look back on it. At the time, I didn’t really think about it, because even though I was attracted to Kyler from the moment I saw him, I kept myself closed off. Little by little, he is bringing me out of my broken shell.

Ky looks back into the living room in the direction we assumed Zach and Haylee had gone, “She seriously blurted that out during lunch?”
“Yep! It was priceless. I mean super gross being my brother and all but I wish someone had taken a photo of my mom and Natalie’s face. Hell of my face and Haylee’s, too. The table was so tense and awkward after.”

Kyler throws his head back in laughter, “ I love that girl and the fact she has no filter. But you gotta admit, she was just looking out for you even in her weird ways.”
I shiver at the thought of what she said making a grimacing expression, “I know. I know. My hero.” I roll my eyes.

“Damn straight,” Haylee exclaims both her and Zach walk back into the kitchen hand in hand. “I’m super Haylee, bitches, get used to it.” We all break out into laughter before figuring out what we were going to have for dinner that night. What I had said to Ky was true, I don’t regret him or us, but I just needed time to understand what was happening before I explained it to other people. And one day, hopefully, I would be able to.

DAni & Kyler bonus scene

Valentine’s Day Bonus

I open my eyes, blinking rapidly as my eyes adjust to the darkness of our living room. The only light comes from the tv. The volume is turned down low but still loud enough that I can hear it this far away on the couch.

“Hey sleepyhead,” a deep voice calls out to my right.

I turn to find my husband lounging back in grey sweatpants, his feet and chest bare. His hair is a bit of a disheveled mess from when I ran my fingers through it earlier at the start of our Valentine’s Date Night.

My smile grows, not at how sexy he looks but at the tiny spitting image of him asleep on his chest.

I didn’t think I could fall in love any further with Kyler, but boy was I wrong. The day Charlotte and Levi were born, our lives were forever changed. Even though labor was torture and felt never ending, the moment I saw him holding the twins, I was ready to do it all over again. Every day since, I fall more and more in love.

“Hi,” I push myself up to a sitting position and brush the hair out of my face. I close the distance between us and press a quick kiss to his lips before settling into his side.

Charli’s tiny body is swaddled in her favorite pink cloud blanket. Her chest rises and falls in unison with her daddy.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to fall asleep. Was I out for long?” I try to hide my yawn as I rest my head on his shoulder and gently place my hands over his on our daughter’s back.

“Nah, not too long. You looked too peaceful to wake up. You did miss the end of the movie though.”

I snicker. “Oh no, how will I ever survive. It’s not like you haven’t made me watch this movie over a hundred times over the years.”

Ky chuckles and without looking at his face, I know he is rolling his eyes at me.

“While that may be true, you willingly agreed to this when I got up with Levi at three this morning.”

“It was three am and I’m a sleep deprived mom of twins, you can’t hold what I say against me.”

I’ve gotten used to Office Space over the years, I guess it’s not that bad, but I’d never tell Ky that because I enjoy our banter too much.

“Speaking of Levi, where is Mama’s Little Man?”

Ky nods to the swing next to the couch. I carefully rise from me seat and walk over to the swing that is currently rocking back and forth.

“Hi, sweetheart,” I coo as I meet the brightest blue eyes I have ever seen. Charli may take after Ky with her dark hair and chocolate brown eyes, Levi is all Jacobs. He is the spitting image of Zach from the photos of him I’ve seen at this age—which is ironic since Emme is my mini me. Thankfully Harper favors the Hanks side or Haylee might have gotten jealous that none of her kids look like her.

I gently lift Levi from the swing and hold him to my chest. As I make my way back to the couch, Ky lets out a soft whistle. I take my eyes off Levi and meet Ky’s. His smile reaches his eyes which are now a darkened rich brown.

“You look so sexy,” he says as his eyes travel up and down my body. I settle next to him and adjust Levi in my arms. He stares up at me taking in his surroundings. He’s always been my observant one over his sister since they were born. I don’t know if it has to do with him being older by a few minutes or what. He’s always curious as to what’s going on whereas Charli’s favorite position is exactly where she is, attached to her daddy—a daddy’s girl through and through.

“I think you need glasses, babe,” I tease. It’s been two days since I’ve showered, the bags under my eyes might as well have been tattooed on my skin and my newest perfume is a combination of baby powder and spit up.

Ky shakes his head, “Nope. You’re the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen, and you’re an amazing mom. I’m the luckiest bastard in the world.”
That makes two of us, the feeling is definitely mutual. There was a time I never thought I would have this but now, I’m married to the man of my dreams with two amazing kids and a wonderful house of our own.

“And it’s fantastic that we can stay home for a simple Valentine’s Day with movies and pizza.”

My eyes flick to the half-eaten box of pizza on the coffee table. Tonight, really has been perfect, and will only get better once these little ones are in their cribs giving Mommy and Daddy some alone time.”

“I like staying in on Valentine’s Day—going out isn’t all it’s cracked up to me especially when,” I glance over at him, flattening out my lips to keep from giggling. “You miss minor details of an event,” we say at the same time. As soon as he laughs, my restraint falters and I help but join him.

For our second Valentine’s Day together, my brother and Ky planned a double date to Lucky’s because they saw that they were hosting a special event for the holiday. However, when the four of us arrived, we noticed a pattern of all attendees—it was all women. Apparently, the bar was hosting a broken heart Galentine’s event that night. Needless to say, Zach and Kyler were like cocks in a henhouse, even all the bartenders that night were female. But they stole the show serenading all those women with their karaoke skills. They were a hit and neither Haylee or I have ever let them forget it.

“I make one mistake, and you’ll never let me live it down.”

I shake my head, “nope, I plan on spending the rest of our lives reminding you.”

Kyler leans in, his breath caresses my lips. “I can’t wait. Happy Valentines Day, Dani. I love you.”

I respond, “I love you too,” before sealing my lips to his. Life couldn’t be more perfect then in this very moment.

I Never Planned on You Deleted Scene

this Scene is now in INEY, however it originally started out in inpoy.

When I close my eyes the memory is still fresh as if it were yesterday. The summer going into our sophomore year. Zach and Emmett had just gotten back from the gym and their bags were by the front door at our house. They were planning to go upstairs to shower before joining us on the back deck. Haylee and I had been laying out all day in our bikinis in the sun trying to get a tan, more like getting crispy. Before going up to shower, Emmett had walked out to where we were and bent down to kiss me.

“I missed you”, he whispered in my ear but since Haylee was sitting so close she heard him. “Oh gag me lover boy, you smell horrendous, please go shower, I don’t think I’ve ever smelled anything more foul that you right now.”

He smiled that devilish smirk and turned towards his sister, “Oh come on sis, come give me a big hug” and leaned over to her chair trying to wrap her up in his arms. She screamed and jumped up and ran around the deck hiding behind me.

That made Emmett laugh, “You know that’s not going to help because my girl will still kiss me even if I smell.”

He walks closer to me and places a quick kiss on my lips and then eyes my pink bikini up and down and bites his lip. I know what he is thinking. After the first time we had sex earlier that summer, we have had a hard time keeping our hands off each other. Judging by the look in his eyes, I’m thinking he wants me to lose this bikini but that is definitely not happening when 1) we are not alone right now and 2) not when he is smelling like that.

“Baby, I love you, you know I do but I’m gonna need you to go shower NOW,” my hands pushing him back towards the house.

Haylee laughing behind me, “shutdown bro!”

He quickly goes to lunge at her jokingly and she falls back off the chair onto the deck. Emmett walks back into the house laughing. I can’t control my laughter either, it was fucking hilarious. I reach out and help her up to her feet before she takes a seat back in her chair.

Fixing her bikini top, “Ugh, I don’t know how you could be that close to him when he smells like that post workout – I’ve never smelled something so gross!” Still laughing, I have the perfect opportunity for Haylee.

“Oh yeah, their gym bag is a lot worse, trust me.”

She shakes her head, “nope, no way, they can atleast air that out, that boy is N-A-S-T-Y!”

She can’t hold back her giggles while I turn my body towards hers, “Hmmm…You wanna bet? Go smell their gym bag and tell me that smells better than Em did just now,” staring at her I say the three words Haylee has never been able to turn down, just like Zach, “I dare you.”

Without hesitation, Haylee hops up and walks into the house, I quickly follow behind her because I am sure as hell not missing this. We walk through the house to where the gym bags sit by the front door and Haylee looks back at me, I am trying so hard not to laugh. I have been in a close vicinity of those nasty things and they are so foul – I can’t believe she is doing this. I should tell her to stop, yes, I definitely should, yet my mouth hasn’t opened. Grabbing one of the gym bags, unsure as to whose it is she unzips it and sticks her face in it and instantly goes green and begins gagging gasping for air. I go to step up to her to congratulate her for it and pat her on the back she drops the bag and pukes right into the bag. My hand flies to my mouth and I can’t control my roaring laughter anymore. I am already on the floor hugging my knees to my chest in laughter, tears in my eyes. Haylee turns around to me and yells, “it’s not fucking funny. I can’t believe you made me do that!” That only makes me laugh harder.

“What the fuck?!” The voice startles the both of us and we look up to see Zach standing there at the stairs looking at me then Haylee and the vomit filled bag in front of her and then back to me, still laughing at the situation.

Raising his voice, “are you fucking serious? Did you just throw up in my gym bag?! What the hell Hails!”

Emmett comes running down the stairs, I’m sure wondering what the yelling is all about. His hair is wet fresh out of the shower and he is only in shorts with t-shirt in hand. Holy shit my man has an amazing body and I can’t wait to get him alone later. But back to reality. Trying to talk and failing many times, “Haylee... I mean I… then… She...Oh my God! I just can’t, this seriously just happened, I never expected that.”

Haylee interjects my laughing while she wipes her mouth, “this bitch dared me to smell your gym bag after I said nothing smelled worse than my brother did just now. She was clearly correct.”

Zach looks so pissed off, “So you just decided to throw up all over my shit?” “No, captain smelly bag, I didn’t just decide to throw up, the awful stench of your bag caused me to puke! Did something die in there?! You sir,” poking his chest with her finger, “should be thanking me because now you NEED To wash all your shit or trash it and start fresh with a new bag.”
Emmett has joined in my laughter and after he catches his breath, walks over towards me and takes me in his arm. As we watch the spat between Zach and Haylee he leans down and rests his chin on my shoulder, “my girl is evil, you know that?”

I look back at him smiling, “I learned from the best.”

He throws his head back in laughter and kisses my cheek, “Damn straight.” We leave the room as they continue to argue as to how Haylee now owes Zach a clean bag.

I Never Expected You bonus Scene

Moving Day - Haylee’s pov

“Are you sure you don’t need any help with that?” I watch Zach struggle to pick up a box that he had packed and I bite my lip to keep from laughing.

“Nah babe. I got this. Let the men do the hard work. You sit there and look pretty.”

Kyler snickers from the kitchen. “Oh you gone and done it now, Zach. We haven’t even moved in officially and you’ve already earned yourself a spot on the couch. Nice job.”

I laugh as Zach flips Kyler the finger. I look around the apartment the boys have shared for the past few years and realize how many memories this place really holds. The boys graduated from UPenn last month. I still have one more year left.

“What! I called her pretty.”

"Sometimes I wonder how you even have a girlfriend man." Kyler says before picking up the box from the counter and walking down to the truck.

"I wonder that too." I joke as Zach walks over to where I sit on the couch. He looks down at me and puckers his lips. I place a quick kiss on his lips and smack his butt as he turns. He looks over his shoulder with an eyebrow raised.

"Hey, that's my job." He winks and my cheeks flush as I watch him leave the apartment.

I pull my feet under me and look around. The many boxes pile up the living room. It didn’t hit me till this very moment how significant this day was. I am not only saying goodbye to the place that I had created many memories with Zach and Kyler in, but today I also say goodbye to another piece of my brother.

I Never Let You Go bonus Scene

Valentine’s DAy

Today is supposed to be a day of love, joy and happiness—Valentine’s Day. Yet here I am, sulking in my car, parked in our driveway listening to R.E.M.’s “Everybody Hurts,” on the radio.

This is mine and Finn’s first Valentine’s Day together in ten years and our first as a married couple. I should be over the moon happy to see what he has planned, but I’ve had a forced smile on my face since this morning.

Negative—the one word that’s been on repeat in my mind.

That’s what the fourth pregnancy test in six weeks read this morning when I peed on the stick before work. I know that Finn and I decided that when it happens it happens, but I really thought today was the day. Once again, I was wrong.

A knock on the window causes me to startle. I clutch my chest and calm my breathing. I expect to find Finn staring at me, however, I am met with eyes that barely reach the base of the driver’s window.

“Oh my God, Andy! What are you doing out here?” I grab my bag and open the car door to scoop him in my arms.

“Uncle Finn sent me out here to see if you were coming inside or waiting for warmer weather.” He shrugs, “whatever that means.”

“Oh he did, did he?” I look up at the front window to see the curtain fluttering. A tell-tale sign that Finn had been there watching me.

“Yup,” Andy wraps his arms around my shoulders as we walk up the path to the front door.

“Wait, Aunt Lauren,” my heart swells hearing him call me that, “Uncle Finn told me I needed to escort your inside.”

I quirk an eyebrow at him but finally set him down when he squirms in my arms trying to free himself.

He straightens his shoulders back as if he had been practicing all afternoon, before holding out his arm for me to take. I look my arm through his and allow him to lead me up the stairs.

When I open the front door, I am greeted by Finn down on one knee. “Babe, you do realize you already did that months ago and I said yes, right?” I hold up my left hand showing off the diamond ring and matching wedding band on my finger.

Finn brings his left hand out from behind his back holding out a dozen of my favorite pink roses and his right hand holds a sign saying, “Be My Valentine?”

This man… all negative thoughts flee my brain when I see him in front of me like this.

“What do you say, Lo, be mine?” Finn rises and hands the flowers and sign off to Andy.

“Of course, I’m always yours.” Finn spins me back, dipping me low in a passionate kiss, reminding me of the same kiss after we said, “I do.”

“Eww, Uncle Finn, you told me I could watch Toy Story, not you two kissing. Gross!” Finn and I both laugh as we separate.

“You’re right buddy, let me get you all set up and then I’ll take Auntie Lo upstairs to show her the next part of her gift.”

Finn turns Toy Story on for him before dragging me up the stairs.

“Finn, I don’t think whatever you have planned is appropriate with your godson downstairs.”

Finn bellows out a laugh. “I’m sure it will be just fine,” he looks back winking.

“What do you have up your sleeve, Mr. Reynolds?”

“You’ll see.” Finn leads me into our bedroom, passing the bed and straight into the ensuite. The lights are low, and candles line the countertop and edge of the tub.

“I know things have been stressful and this morning, our day didn’t exactly start out how we thought, but I want you to forget about everything and relax.” He wraps his arms around me from behind. “You’ve got a bottle with your favorite wine right there,” he points to the wine bucket on the vanity stool beside the tub and I charged your kindle which I know has an early copy of the upcoming Belle Willis book. Soak in here as long as you want.”

I turn to face him and wrap my arms around his neck, “I love you so much.”

“I love you, too. Happy Valentines Day, Lo.”

***
After a long hot bath, I feel more relaxed than ever. I throw on a pair of yoga pants and one of Finn’s long sleeve shirts and head downstairs to see what else he has planned for the evening.

“Where’s Andy?” I look around as I walk down the final two steps. I expected to find him still on the couch watching Toy Story, but the couch is empty and the tv is off.

Finn appears in the doorway with a big smile on his face.

“Oh, my mom picked him up already. He was only here because she was running late and Jax was on a time crunch for tonight’s plans.” He extends his hand out to me and I take it, “Now come on, I’ve got everything all set up out back.”

“Out back? You do realize it’s February and cold right?”

He laughs as he leads me through the kitchen. “I’m well aware babe, just trust me.”

Of course, I trust him, but I think he’s nuts if he thinks we’re going to be sitting out here in the freezing cold. I’ll just have to let him warm me up afterwards.

When Finn opens the back door leading to the backyard, a bright twinkle catches my eye. The backyard has been transformed to look similar the backyard of the beach house when we got married. There are twinkling lights dangling from the trees, the patio table is covered in a white tablecloth and a bottle of red wine sits in the center. There are three tall heaters are nearby giving off plenty of warmth that I can feel from here.

Finn places his hands on my shoulders. “Go ahead out babe, I’ll grab our plates and bring them out.”

I look back and Finn kisses my lips gently. He disappears into the kitchen while I head out to the patio. I’m taking in the gorgeous scenery when I hear the back door open again. Finn walks over carrying two plates of delicious looking food. We both take a seat at the table.

“I hope you’re hungry. I made scallop risotto.” This plate looks like it could be out of one of those Gordan Ramsey cooking shows we've been binge watching lately.

“It smells amazing. You spoil me too much.” I place my hand over Finns, and he turns his hand so that our palms touch and fingers link.

“I’ll spoil you every day for as long as you’ll let me. I know you’re sad, but I promise you baby, one day it will happen, and we will grow our family. I know you will be an absolutely amazing mother.”

DAni & Kyler bonus Scene

a positive test - Dani’s pov

I startle awake in a puddle of my own drool, unsure when I even fell asleep. I sit up stretching and look around the room. The tv is still on playing an episode of One Tree Hill. I had brought a basket of clean clothes in here and turned on hulu only making it through half an episode from what I recall before dozing off. I glance over at the spot next to me to find the pile of laundry still there—untouched.

I shuffle off the bed and turn the tv off. Making my way out to the living room, I find Kyler lounging on the couch, his feet perched on the coffee table.

“Hey,” I say softly, taking the seat next to him and nestle my head in the crook of his neck.

Ky wraps his arm around my shoulder and places a kiss on my temple. “Hey, baby. How are you feeling?”

“I’m good. Sorry for falling asleep. Was I out long?”

He shrugs. “A few hours. I walked into the bedroom and found you passed out next to a pile of laundry. Laundry puts me to sleep too.” He chuckles and the vibrations from his laughter goes through my body due to our close proximity.

“Yeah, I was exhausted.” I fight a yawn. I’ve been feeling so tired and run down lately actually. I hope I’m not getting sick.

“Are you hungry? I was going to heat up some dinner.”

My stomach growls when he mentions food. “Mmm, yes. That sounds wonderful. I’m going to freshen up and then I’ll come join you.”

I cup his cheek and bring his face down to meet mine. When his lips touch mine, it sends shockwaves down to my lady bits. I love kissing this man. His tongue seeks entrance and I moan when it meshes with mine. By the time we break apart, I am breathless.

“How about I go make us some dinner and then we can continue that conversation for dessert.” Kyler winks before heading into the kitchen.

I hop off the couch and head toward the bathroom. I look in the mirror at my flushed cheeks and my messy bed head, but I can’t help but notice my chest. Did my boobs get bigger?

And then it clicks…

I’m exhausted. My boobs are definitely bigger. I smelled the chocolate candy bar Kyler was eating in the bedroom all the way from the kitchen yesterday.

I mentally calculate my period in my head. Oh my God. I open the drawer in the bathroom cabinet and pull out the pink box I picked up at the pharmacy the other week. I open the package and read the instructions. Glad I didn’t pee right after I woke up.

I follow the directions and set the white stick on the counter and wait while I wash my hands while singing Happy Birthday to myself. I feel like this is like watching paint dry. Moving from the sink, I sit on the edge of the tub. My leg bounces up and down anxiously. Should I get Kyler while we wait?

Knock. Knock.

“Hey, babe. Dinner’s ready.”

I quickly stand as if I was just caught with my hand in the cookie jar. “Okay, I’ll be right there.” His footsteps fade away from the door.

I walk over to the sink and close my eyes picking up the stick. I inhale and exhale. Okay, this is it…

One. Two. Three.

I find Kyler in the kitchen, serving last night’s leftovers on two plates. He looks up at me smiling, but when he sees the shocked expression on my face, his smile drops.

“Dani? What’s wrong?” He sets down the leftovers and rushes over to me. Cupping my cheeks gently, he looks me over for any injury. Tears begin to stream down my face. “Baby, say something.”

I lift my hand, revealing the white stick I was holding.

He quirks a brow. “Is that?” I nod and the tears continue to flow. “Baby are you telling me that we’re—”

“Pregnant.” I manage to choke out with a smile on my face.

“You’re pregnant?” Ky drops his hands from my cheeks to my flat stomach.

“I am.”

Before I know it, Kyler scoops me in his arms and presses his lips to mine in a searing kiss. He brings to spin me around in celebration.

Oh my God. I’m going to be a mom. Kyler and I are going to be parents. We definitely wanted kids, I mean we started trying on our wedding night. I always imagined what this moment would be like, and I had planned on telling Kyler by going out and buying a onesie that said “World’s Greatest Dad,” and wrapping the stick up to go along with it. But when I saw those two little pink lines, I couldn’t wait. Plans be damned! We’re having a baby!

I Never Let You Go Deleted Scene

This scene was originally at the end of Chapter 36

I felt the head of his cock pushing against the tight ring of muscle. Finn had prepared me well, stretching me out, but it still burned slightly at the intrusion as he entered me. The pain would soon turn to pleasure, a pleasure only Finn could give me.

“Fuck” he hisses as he pushes deeper inside. His fingers on one hand gripping my hip while the other came around to find my clit.

Bzzzzzzz. The small vibrator he placed against my clit and I jumped, clenching around his cock.

“Just relax baby,” Finn leans over whispering into my ear. I let the sensations of the vibrator relax me allowing Finn to slide further into my ass until I feel his pelvis against my skin. He gives us a moment for me to adjust to him being back there. We first started experimenting with this in college- first just fingers, then toys and eventually I let him take me there. It was a feeling I could never describe, nor could I imagine doing with anyone else but him.

“Oh fuck I missed this.” I arch my back as he begins to slide out slightly and push back in.

“Fucking hell lo, you’re so tight. I’m not gonna be able to last long.”

My body starts to shake as he enhances the speed of the vibrator and begins to fasten his pace. Finn bends down my back to his front encasing me in his arms. His breathing has increased so I know he’s getting close.

The need to find my release takes over as I began to push pack on Finns cock, my own arousal dripping out of me.

“I know you’re there baby, just let it go and come with me.” His words set me off and Finn holds me tight as the orgasm rips through my body.

With one last thrust, Finn joins me over the edge. He places soft kisses along my spine before resting his forehead between my shoulder blades. Finally turning the vibrator off and setting it to the side, the only sound now filling our room is our heavy breathing.

With a Finn still deep inside me, I lean down so that my head rests on my forearms, trying to catch my breath. “I love you so much, baby.”

Ben & Lexi Bonus Scene

Valentine’s DAy Surprise

“Baby I am so sorry about tonight,” Ben reaches across the center console of his BMW and laces his fingers through mine.

I rest my head against the leather headrest facing him.

“It’s okay.” I give him a brave smile even though I am a little saddened as to the clusterfuck of how this day turned out.

Having a birthday on a holiday was never fun but at least it wasn’t a holiday like Christmas and only Valentine’s Day. Growing up in school I always wondered why everyone in my class got cards on my birthday but on theirs I didn’t get cards. As I grew up, i grew more indifferent about it.

Last year, Ben spoiled me including giving me a gorgeous infinity necklace with my birthstone in the middle, even though we were still hiding our relationship at the moment.

Ben is always trying to top himself with romancing me, even though I’m already his. If he asked I would say yes to forever right now. I expected today to be no different in being better than the last, however life had other plans.

First today at work, Ben came into my office to tell me that he got a call from the florist and the flowers had been delivered to the wrong place and since it was Valentine’s Day, they were booked with deliveries and couldn’t bring a new one till tomorrow.

Then Ben got held up on a conference call and missed our lunch date. At least there were no issues with the delivery of my favorite sushi, I just enjoyed it alone.
And now, we just left the Marinio’s Italian Restaurant where Ben had made reservations for dinner which of course they double booked and we waited two hours for a table only to be told they were completely out of their Valentine’s Day specials.

Another reason I hate sharing my birthday on this holiday is because everyone and their brother,or well boyfriend, are out celebrating today making a mad house of every bar and restaurant. Like come on people, celebrate love every day not just one day of the year.

Ben brings out joined hands to his lips as we turn on our street. “I promise to make it up you.”

I love that he wanted to make today so much about me, but I also remember that it’s Valentine’s Day so that it’s also about him.

Ben pulls into the driveway, placing the car into park.

“Is there something wrong with the garage?” It’s not like Ben to park outside of it.

He unclicks his seatbelt and leans over gripping my chin with his index finger and thumb. “Asher just had some detailing done on his car so I let him park in there tonight.”

When his lips brush mine, I pull him closing, needing his touch. I’m about two seconds from climbing over the console and fucking him senseless. Instead ben pulls back and I whine. He rubs his thumb over my bottom lip, tracing over the smeared lipstick. “Come on let’s get inside to see if we can salvage the rest of today.”

With one last quick kiss, he exits the car and rushes around to open my door. I take his extended hand and allow him to help me out of the car.

We walk hand in hand to the front door. It feels weird doing that versus just walking through the garage like we typically do. But when we stop at the front door and Ben places the key in the door, it allows me time to warm Ben up for what I have planned inside. I wrap my arms around his waist and drop my hands over his crotch.

“Woah hey there,” he jumps but I don’t remove my hands instead I move my hand even lower cupping his balls over the material of his dress pants. His cock begins to stiffen when I bring my hand back up over it.

“How am I supposed to put the key in the door if you keep doing that.” There is a soft thud in front of my where’re bens forehead rests against the door.

“You just need to focus bc as soon as we can get inside you can get inside me.” He groans but finally gets the key in and turned.

When we are safely inside the townhouse, I kick the door shut with my foot. All of the lights are off, phew that must mean Asher isn’t home. You won’t see me complaining on that.
I shove Ben against the wall and press up on my toes, thankful to be wearing heals to assist with the height difference between us. His hands roam my body before settling on my hips as our tongues explore each other.

He grips my hips and pushes me gently away. Well that wasn’t exactly what I was hoping for.

“Come on, let go upstairs,” he begins to lead me to the stairwell that leads to the main floor of the townhouse but I have a better idea. We are almost to the top when I stop walking which forces him to stop as well. When he spins to look down on me, I nudge him backwards so that his back is on the stairs.

“Hey why don’t we go upstairs and let me make it up to you,” he growls as i settle between his legs I begin to undo his belt..

“Baby,” he warns but I keep going.

I swat away his hand when I fumble for the button his slacks and slide up his body so our mouthes are inches apart. “Ben, I don’t need you to make up to me with anything, it’s my birthday and if I wanna suck your cock, I’m going to do it, now do you have anything else to say or can I get to it?”

“Umm I have something to say,” a familiar female voice says from the living room.

I pop my head up, huh? Why is Hadley in the living room? The living room light flicks on revealing my friends, Asher, and a few coworkers. Oh my god, I scramble off Ben and straighten my dress.

Hadley and Brynn’s eyes are both wide and the devilish smirk on Cals face.

“What are you all doing here?”

“Oh yeah, sorry totally forgot with the almost free voyeur show. 1-2-3,” Hadley counts down and everyone joins her in yelling “surprise!”

I gasp bringing my hands to cover my nose and mouth. Ben has since risen from the floor and adjusted himself. He wraps his arm around my shoulder as we walk up the last few stairs to meet the group of party attendees.

Ben presses a kiss to my temple. “You didn’t honestly think we would have THAT much bad luck today did you?”

“You planned all this?”

He nods. “Of course, I had to top last year. And I had to throw you off from figuring this party out. I couldn’t have done it without Brynn and Hadleys help though.”

“Damn right you couldn’t have.” Hadley laughs when she and Brynn approach.

“Happy birthday bitch!” They both pull me into a hug and I’ve never felt more love then I do right now.

Later that night...

“We’re you surprised,” Ben whispers in my ear as his strong arms wrap around me from behind.

I drag my nails along his arms and I can feel his cock swell nestled against my ass in his slacks.

“I think mortified might be the correct term. All of our family and friends heard me talk about your cock.” My cheeks warm in embarrassment.

He chuckles and his body vibrates against mine. “I mean it was hilarious,” I look up at him squinting and planning his demise with my glare, which only makes him laugh harder. “I mean yes it was totally mortifying. Although,” he presses his lips against the base of my neck snd nips the skin slightly and I squirm in his hold, “I’m pretty sure everyone here has been at an event where we’ve knowingly snuck off to fuck. So...”

I roll my eyes and try to release from his grasp but he yanks me back in his arms. “As soon as the last person leaves tonight, I hope you know I’m going to fuck you on every surface in this house. My birthday girl deserves to have all her birthday wishes come true.”

Happy Birthday to Me!

I Never Let You Go Deleted Scene

This scene was orginally between Chapters 5 & 6

For the second time in ten years, Lauren left me alone without an explanation as to why she left. It was as if she couldn’t get away from me fast enough.
It wasn’t that I was expecting a beautiful reunion of two lovers where we end up having slutty wedding sex in the bathroom, especially since she ghosted me. To be honest, I wasn’t sure what I was expecting, but I sure as hell wasn’t expecting her to run.

Was seeing me so horrible that she had to leave her own brother’s wedding? I know she felt it, too. The way she settled against my body, the tension eased off of her. Our breathing was synced. It was as if those years hadn’t passed with us apart. I’m left yearning for her more yet also more confused as ever.

I grip the back of my neck, confused on my next move.

Do I chase after her?

Do I shout her name?

Do I go find her sister to run after her?

Cause a scene?

I have to remember that today isn’t about us.

I didn’t realize how long I was standing there until the changing of the song to a much faster tempo has me pulled from my thoughts. Not wanting to draw more attention to myself than I already have being here, I gather the strength to walk off the dance floor in the direction of our table. My suit suddenly more constricting than ever. I fumble with my tie, loosening it, and look around for my mother.

I spot her still standing with Liz Lawson, Lauren’s mother, and push my shoulder’s back. With a heavy exhale I walk over to say my goodbye. I need to get out of here.
With my hands in my pockets, I quietly approach them. I reach out and graze my mom’s arm.

“Oh, hi sweetheart.” Her smile fades when she sees the tension radiating off me. She knows something is up. Did she see us on the dance floor? Did she see Lauren run away?

“Hello, Finn. It’s wonderful to see you.” Liz pulls me into a hug and the tightness in my chest increases. Am I about to have a heart attack at thirty-two? Here lies Finn Reynolds, death of a broken heart.

“It’s great to see you too. It was a beautiful ceremony and reception.”

Liz focuses on her son and new daughter in law who is standing two tables in front of us mingling with some of the wedding party. “It was wasn’t it. They are such a beautiful couple. They are so full of love.”

My throat dries as I try to swallow the hurt. My eyes travel to the happy couple. I take in the way he looks at her and the way she looks at him. It’s the same way I look at Lauren and they way she well… used to. Now her eyes, well they looked cold and distant, full of hurt. Who hurt her? She was the one who gave up on us by changing her number but acted as though it was all on me.

I look down at the floor shuffling my feet.

“Anyways, mom, I came over to let you know I wasn’t feeling well. I was going to take off.”

Mom grips my arm, “Are you okay? I can grab my bag.”

“No. I mean yes, I’m okay, just feeling a little under the weather. It’s been a long few days, that’s all. But no, I don’t want you to leave. I can send Chase out to pick you up.”

“Oh that’s silly. Don’t make your brother in law come out later than he has to. I’ll grab my belongings.”

“No, mom, stay.” I really just want to be alone right now. I plead with her eyes. As if Liz could sense my plea, she interjects.

“Denise, it’s okay. We can make sure you get home okay.”

“Are you sure?” My mother and I both ask at the same time.

“Of course.” She gives my mom a big smile before turning to me.

She wraps her arms around me one last time. “I hope you feel better. It’ll all be okay.” As she pulls back she gives me a smile. Does she know?

I give my mother a hug and exit the reception hall. I could find Kyler and congratulate him one last time but I want to avoid the other Lawson children so they don’t ask where Lauren is. I am sure by now they see she is missing.

With my head hanging low, I leave the Lawson wedding quietly.

Zach & Haylee

valentine’s day 2020

Haylee

I can’t believe this is our sixth Valentine’s Day together and our first one as a married couple. Life has been so crazy between our wedding, honeymoon, preparing for Dani and Kyler’s wedding and well just life in general that I had to get a little creative with tonight’s plans. Typically, Dani and Kyler will watch Emme so that we can have a date night but Kyler actually surprised Dani with a special weekend getaway to Philly to get the wedding madness. Luckily, Lauren and Kate had no plans and didn’t mind one more girl tagging along.

“Thanks. Have a nice evening.” I say to the delivery guy before closing the front door. I walk back into the kitchen and set two bags from Alessio’s, the new Italian restaurant in town. We haven’t been there yet, so I cross my fingers that this will work. It’s no surprise that I can’t cook, I mean I’m getting better these days but the house smelling of burnt food or setting off the smoke detectors again is pretty much the opposite of the romantic vibes I was going for.

Emme coos and giggles from her high chair as I unpack the containers on the counter. I scoop out the sausage and spinach orecchiette from their container into one of the fancy serving dishes we received as a wedding present. I then place it in the oven to keep warm. I then do the same with the Caesar salad and place that in the fridge. Pasta and salad seem like two rather simple dishes that I could potentially not actually fuck up while making. To hopefully ensure that Zach doesn’t figure out my plan I throw away the containers in the trashcan and type the bag up. I’ll remember to take that out before he gets home.

I walk over and lean down to her. Her baby blue eyes that match mine and my brother’s sparkle when she looks at me. “Shh, this will be our little secret, won’t it, baby girl.” She giggles before shoving a cheerio in my mouth with her slobbery hands.

“Are you going to have fun with Auntie Lauren and Auntie Kate tonight?” I ask and she claps. I don’t know if it was the sweet baby voice I said it in that got her excited or she understood who she was hanging out with tonight. This will be the first sleepover that she has had with someone who wasn’t our parents or Dani and Kyler. And mama is a little bit of a nervous wreck. Not to mention trying to pass this meal off as my own.

As if on que the doorbell rings before immediately opening. “Honey we’re home,” Kate shouts before shutting the door.

“We’re in here,” I reply as I unhook Emme from her seat and bring her into my arms. I laugh at the amount of cheerios that fall out of her lap and wonder if any actually made it into her mouth.

The Lawson twins enter the kitchen and stop abruptly before they both begin smelling the air and looking around. There is no denying the delicious Italian aromas that fill our kitchen and I can see the questioning expression on their faces as to how the house smells this good with me cooking. But I just smile at them instead. Yep, I totally spent all afternoon making these wonderful smells that fill our house. Uh huh, that’s the story and I’m sticking to it.

“Thank so much for taking her tonight. You sure you don’t mind doing this?” I ask adjusting Emme on my hip.

“Not at all. We’re gonna take her out to the bar later and tell men that all three of us are looking for Daddy’s.” I stare at Kate blankly, honestly unsure if she is joking or not. “I’m kidding. Jeez Hails take a joke.”

I relax and look back towards the kitchen. “Sorry, I’m just nervous about tonight.”

Lauren approaches scooping Emme out of my arms. Emme loves her Auntie Lauren so she reaches right for her and rests her head on her shoulder.

“There’s nothing to be nervous about. Whatever you have cooking in there smells divine and we’ve got this little one. Unlike the ridiculous plan that just came out of my sister’s mouth, we plan to just binge Disney + and have a good old-fashioned girl’s night. Right Emme?” Lauren looks down and tickles Emme’s belly. She giggles and I swear my heart grew two sizes. I wish I could bottle that sound up and keep it forever.

Kate grabs the overnight bag and car seat from the couch. “Emme is in good hands. You and Zach have the house to yourselves to …" she twists her mouth to the side in thought, “...well do whatever it is you married folk do when alone.” She winks before walking out the door.

“Say bye to mommy.” Lauren holds up Emme’s hand and waves at me.

I walk over and kiss Emme’s forehead. “Bye Baby, Mommy and Daddy will see you tomorrow.”

I remind Lauren that there are bottles in the bag and that she just had cheerios for snack. Once secured in her seat, Lauren and Kate pull out of the driveway with me still standing in the doorway waving.

I clap my hands together and reenter the house. First thing on my list is to take the trash out. Last thing I need is for Zach to discover the restaurant packaging in the trashcan. Then after a quick shower, I through on a flirty dress that dips a little lower than I typically wear these days, but hey it’s Valentine’s Day. I want to look good for my hubby.

Zach should be home any minute. The table is set and the candles are lit. I grab the salad bowl from the fridge and pasta dish from the oven and set them both on the table. My stomach is already growling at how amazing this food looks. I relax my shoulders content with how everything turned out. I can’t hide my smile knowing how surprised Zach will be.
The sound of the front door opening and closing has my heart racing. Calm down Hails.

“Wow, something smells delicious in here.” Zach calls from the living room. I rub my sweaty palms over my dress. Showtime.

Zach

I open the front door and am instantly hit with a delicious aroma that has my stomach growling before I have even shut the door.

“Wow, something smells delicious in here.” I shout, unsure where anyone is. I kick the door shut with my foot. With my free hand I set my work bag down on the chair and go in search of not only my girls but the source of the yummy smells. “Hails?” I call entering the kitchen. I find her leaning up against the table with her hands fidgeting together.

“Hey,” she looks up smiling at me. This woman’s smile seriously makes me weak in the knees.

“Happy Valentines Baby.” From behind my back, I present her with the bouquet of Gerber daisies, her favorite, that I picked up on the ride home.

She brings them to her face and inhales. I can tell the petals tickle her nose by the way she scrunches it. I step closer to her and wrap my arms around her pulling to me before dipping my head down to capture her lips with mine.

I break the kiss not letting my hormones take over. I glance over my shoulder at Emme’s high chair and find it empty. I begin to search the room in a panic. “Where’s Emme?”
I turn back to face Haylee who has a devilish smile spreading on her face. She closes the distance between us and links her hands behind my neck.

“She’s not here.” My eyebrows shoot up hoping that she explains. “Kate and Lauren took her for the night.” My shoulders sag disappointed that I don’t get to give her the teddy bear I bought her. I stick my bottom lip out in a pout and Haylee smirks.

“Wait, did you say they are keeping her for the night.”

“Yup,” her lips making a popping sound on the “p”. I imagine her making that same sound with her pretty little lips making that same sound on my cock later.

“The whole night, huh?” I grip her hips and pull her closer against my body and she pushes her pelvis against my groin.

“Mmmhmm,” she hums as I run my nose along her neck and inhale her sweet scent.

“What did you have planned, Mrs. Jacobs, because I can think of a few things I would like to do to you right now.” She shivers at the feel of my breath on ear. I spin her so that her back is to my front and brush her hair off to the side. I begin to kiss her starting on her shoulder and then up her neck to her pulse point. She leans back into my body rubbing her ass against my growing erection.

She rolls her hips in a circular motion against me. “First I made dinner.”

“Is that the delicious aroma I smelled when I walked in?”

“Uh huh,” she barely gets out as my hands trail down her body. “And then I thought we could have dessert.”

“Baby, as long as your dessert, I’ll do whatever you want.”

Haylee reaches back to play with the hair on the back of my neck and slightly tugs. I groan at the movement. I place my finger under her chin and tilt it upwards to face me so that I can claim her lips. My stomach growls pulling us both out of our haze. She wraps her lips around teeth to try and stifle her laughter.

“Guess your stomach wins over...” Haylee giggles while looking down at the outline of my cock in my pants.

I exhale in defeat and shrug. “Afraid so. But we should probably eat something anyway to have energy for later.” I wink as I lead her to the beautifully set table. I pull her chair back as she takes a seat before walking around to my chair across from her. I snap fingers, oh shit I almost forgot.

“Where are you going,” she asks.

“Give me one second. I need to grab something.” I run to the living room where my work bag is and grab the card and box that I have been storing in my desk at work. Haylee is known for her snooping and there was no way I was letting her find this one.

I set them down on the table in front of her before taking my seat. This dinner smells amazing.

“What’s this?”

“Why don’t you open it?” I smile while scooping out this fancy looking pasta dish and the salad on my plate.

She rips through the wrapping paper and opens the long jewelry box. She gasps and her hand flies to cover her mouth. I had a custom necklace made with hers and my birthstones along with Emme’s. When we decide to have more kids, we can add their birthstones to it as well.” The look on her face was worth every penny of it.

“I love it, Zach, thank you.” I reach across the table and take her hand in mine.

“Well I love you.” I squeeze her hand across the table. I let go of her hand and focus on the plate of food. I take a large bite and holy shit! “Hails, this is incredible. You seriously outdid yourself babe. Look at you!”

“Yep.” She looks down at her plate and her smile takes over her entire face.

Zach & Haylee

valentine’s day 2021

“Babe, come on,” I shout over my shoulder as I walk down the hall, carrying our overnight bags. I set them down at the front door as Haylee finally appears in the living room with a freshly bathed Harper attached to her chest.

“Maybe we shouldn’t go, Emme is still running a low-grade fever and I don’t want Harper to get sick, too.”

“Hails, we covered this already. That’s why both our parents are coming to watch the girls tonight.” Haylee can come up with every excuse in the book to cancel tonight but I’ve got an answer for each one. Nothing and I mean nothing is going to stop us from our special night. It’s not that I don’t love my kids, because I do, but this will be our first overnight without them since Harper was born. Having two kids under the age of four leaves for us to get creative with alone time. If one of the girls isn’t already attached to us like a spider monkey, there’s one sleeping in our bed, or needing a midnight feeding.

I swear the kids have alarms on them that go off as soon as they know Mommy and Daddy are about to have sexy times.

Haylee sighs knowing I’m right and she and Harper disappear back down the hallway towards the nursery.

“Hey, princess, how ya feeling?” I crouch down in front of Emme who is laying on the couch with her favorite blanket and bear watching a rerun of Paw Patrol. Emme has been battling a cold the last few days but is finally on the med. It’s been hard to watch her sick and no longer resembling my little ball of fire. I brush her curls off her forehead and her skin no longer feels clammy—here’s hoping the meds are doing their job.

“Are you excited to spend the evening with your grandparents?” Emme’s blue eyes move to me for a moment before focusing back on the screen.

The doorbell rings—speak of the devils.

I press a quick kiss to Emme’s forehead before heading towards the door. As soon as I open the door, my dad barrels through. “Where’s my girls?” He completely ignores me, but if I thought Dani was wrapped around his finger growing up, I was completely wrong. I don’t think he nor Brian know the word “no,” when it comes to their grandchildren. Lord help us all when they are older.

“Pop Pop,” Emme yells popping up from the couch. Where was that version of my daughter just moments ago?

“Well damn, I guess I’m chopped liver,” I mutter gripping the back of my neck as I watch my dad scoop Emme into his arms.

“Don’t take it personal, sweetheart,” my mom says as she presses a kiss to my cheek.

“Where are Natalie and Brian,” I ask when I look out the front door.

“Oh they just dropped us off and are running to the store to pick up what we need for Natalie’s Chicken Parm,” my mom replies before heading over to join my dad and Emme.

My mouth instantly waters at the mention of my mother in law’s dish. Knowing the way our mom’s always cook a feast, I sure hope there will be leftovers for tomorrow.

“Where’s my little angel,” she asks as she claps her hands together.

“Right here,” Haylee appears with Harper and mom rushes to her.

“Oh my goodness you’ve gotten so big since I last saw you,” mom coos as she takes Harper from Haylee’s arms.

“Kel, you just saw her the other day,” Dad chuckles from the couch where he and Emme are watching Paw Patrol.

“Shush Adam,” mom scolds without taking her eyes off her newest grandchild.

But it’s true, my girls are growing so fast before my very eyes. Before I know it, I’ll be fighting off Emme’s boyfriends and sending her to college. I’m just not ready for that yet.

It only took thirty minutes of goodbyes and hugs to get Haylee out the door and into the car. That has to be a new record for us.

Our reservation isn’t until eight, so we have time to check into our hotel room and freshen up. Knowing that we were on a time limit, I let Haylee into the bathroom alone, otherwise we might never leave the room.

I’m already dressed in black slacks and a black dress shirt, when the door the bathroom finally opens. I look up to see Haylee exit the bathroom wearing a bright red satin dress that clings to her curves.

How did I look at this woman everyday and never realize how damn beautiful she was? My wife is smoking hot and the only thoughts I can think of at this moment are tearing that dress off her and devouring her like a man on death row savoring a three-course meal.

“Does this look okay?” Haylee stares at her reflection in the mirror turning side to side inspecting the dress. I stalk to her like a predator seeking out its prey.

I spin her around and tangle my fingers in her curls. I love that she has her hair down—her typical “mom look” these days includes leggings, an oversized sweatshirt, and her hair up in a messy bun. I waste no time covering her mouth with mine.

When her hands grip my waist, tugging tightly on my dress shirt, I step closer forcing Haylee to back up until her back hits the dresser. I hoist Haylee up and she instinctively wraps her legs around me.

I’ve never been a man to follow the rules so a little taste of my dessert before the meal wouldn’t hurt.

“Zach, what are you doing. We have reservations,” she pants but doesn’t push me off her.

I drop to my knees and hoist her dress up over her hips revealing the sorriest excuse of panties I’ve ever seen. Did I mention they are also the sexiest? A tiny red strip of lace matching the color of her dress is the only thing between me and her pussy. I have all intentions of ripping it to shreds later, but for now I’m a man on a mission.

I move the fabric to the side and dive in. With slow, steady strokes I tease her from her clit to her ass and back up. I continue to lick her as she threads her fingers through my hair, tugging on the ends. My girl is so wet for me that I have no problem inserting two fingers inside her. Her walls begin to tighten, and I know she is close as I vigorously plunge my fingers in and out of her.

When the pressure gets too much, Haylee tries to close her legs around my head but I’m having none of that. I press her knees open as I suction my lips to her clit.
That’s all it takes before she explodes on my face. I don’t waste a single drop of her pleasure as I lick her clean. How I’m going to make it through dinner with her taste on my lips is beyond me.

I hop up and passionately kiss my wife, so she tastes herself on me.

When I pull back, I look in the mirror at our reflection. My hair looks similar to what it might look like had I stuck my finger in an electrical outlet and I don’t even both fixing it.

I help Haylee off the dresser and adjust her dress back to normal.

“Now that I’ve had my dessert first, how about we go have dinner before we come back here and I spend the rest of the night with my cock buried inside you.” A soft whimper leaves Haylee’s lips—maybe we can just get our meal to go.

Before either of us come to our senses and stay in, I grab the hotel key with one hand and shove it in my pants pocket and grab Haylee’s hand with the other and lead her out of the hotel room.

The I Never Series Bonus Scene

4th of july

Zach, Dani, Kyler and I came down to Annapolis for the long 4th of July weekend. The Jacobses resumed having their annual holiday cookout a few years back but this is Dani's first time since she returned. So far we've lounged pool side, kicked the boys ass in a volleyball match, ate and ate and ate. Did I mention we ate?!

"Oh Fuck, I'm so full," I sigh as I set the empty plate in front of me.

Large hands grip my shoulders and hull me back so I'm now settled between Zach's spread legs on the lounge chair we are currently sharing.

With my back against his chest, the rumble of his laughter vibrates right through me.

"Not the first time I've heard those words from your lips, baby." Zach attempts to say soft enough so that only I hear but fails.

Tact and Zach Jacobs don't exactly go hand in hand, but I love him anyway.

Ky chuckles and Dani pretends to gag where they are perched on a chair across from us.

"Don't be gross, bro." Dani teases.

"What," Zach says as if shocked by her comment.

I look up at him, arching a brow and his smile grows as his blue eyes meet mine.

"Remember the first time I took you to the carnival and you devoured funnel cake or the first time we took Ky for steamed crabs. Sheesh you people need to get your mind out of the gutter. I'm surrounded by a bunch of pervs." He winks before leaning down to briefly kiss my lips.

"Yeah sure that's exactly what you meant," Kyler chimes in before pulling Dani back into a position similar to Zach and I.

Zach opens his mouth to respond but I but in first, not needing to continue openly talking about my sex life. "So what are we gonna do between now and the fireworks?"

"Enjoy the food come right here poolside?" Resting her hands on her stomach as if she had a real baby and not just a food baby. A small smile touches my lips as I watch Dani and Ky get closer and closer. I wonder if one day they will have kids of their own. I can picture us all coming back here one day with our kids hanging all over their grandparents getting anything and everything they want.

Dani's soft groan brings me back to reality. "I definitely should not have eaten those last three ribs but they were just so good. I've missed all of this."

"We could always head downtown and walk around. Maybe get an ice cream and then be back here in time for the fireworks." Even though the thought of more food has my stomach read to explode, I could work up an appetite walking around for more.

"Or we could even just stay down there for them, Zach adds from behind me.

"Hmm," Dani snuggles further into Ky. "I could be convinced to walk around. What about you babe?"

Ky looks down at her with so much love. He might not have come out to say it yet, but I can tell he is so in love with her.

"Sounds good to me.. I'm up for anything you wanna do." He presses a kiss to the tip of her nose.

"Alright then it's settled." I hop up and clap my hands together. My food coma suddenly a thing of the past. "What are we waiting for ya lazy bums... let's go."
